About the Company

We are building a peer-to-peer exchange where fans buy and sell positions in individual athletes, similar to a stock market. Our platform features a central limit order book, real money, and mechanical settlement against a published, rules-based rating computed from official on-field stats. There is no house; fans trade against each other like a prediction market.

We have completed the rating methodology, scoped the legal structure with counsel, and selected our payments and data vendors. We successfully ran a beta during the past NFL season, which drew ~1,000 organic users and 21,000 trades in four weeks. The founding team was part of Founders Inc, and we are about to open our seed round.

The Role

We are hiring a Founding Engineer/CTO to own the entire technical build. You will have no inherited architecture and no one between you and the problem. You will be the technical voice of the company with investors and, eventually, regulators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain the matching engine and order book.
  • Develop the rating and settlement engine (deterministic, computed from official stats).
  • Manage the ledger, custody, and real-time data pipeline.
  • Make all architectural decisions, including the choice between on-chain vs. off-chain custody and settlement for v1.

Requirements

  • Experience building correctness-critical, concurrent systems.
  • Background in trading, exchanges, payments, or comparable domains.
  • Systems depth is prioritized over a specific tech stack; the language is open.
  • Ability to operate as a technical leader alongside two non-technical founders.
