Director of E-commerce and Technology (Remote)

About the Role
We are a women’s fashion company seeking a Director of E-Commerce & Technology to lead and manage all technical aspects of our digital commerce presence.
You’ll own the day-to-day operations of our online store and digital stack including our social media. Content/creative comes from our team; your focus is execution, structure, and scale: keeping the catalog pristine, visual aesthetics smooth, data clean, and tools well-orchestrated. You’re commercially minded, highly organized, and love turning messy workflows into clean, repeatable processes.
What you’ll do

E-Commerce Platform Management (Shopify):
- Upload and configure new products, collections, and categories.
- Manage product data, pricing, tags, and SEO fields.
- Implement and optimize Shopify apps and integrations.
- Ensure smooth checkout and payment processes.

Systems & Process Engineering:
- Develop repeatable workflows for product launches and updates.
- Integrate Shopify with ERP, inventory, and fulfillment systems.
- Manage data consistency across platforms (Shopify, CRM, logistics).
- Automate tasks to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.

Digital Operations Oversight:
- Manage and execute email campaigns and newsletters (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar) - with content provided.
- Ensure Instagram Shop and other social commerce tools are properly configured and maintained.
- Monitor website uptime, speed, and performance.
- Own digital compliance (GDPR, CAN-SPAM, PCI, etc.).

Leadership & Reporting:
- Act as the technology lead for the e-commerce function.
- Collaborate with our team to execute campaigns smoothly.
- Provide regular reporting on operational efficiency and platform performance.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies.
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years in e-commerce operations (fashion/DTC a plus), stewarding a Shopify (ideally Plus) store.
- Strong expertise with Shopify and ecosystem apps.
- Comfortable administering ESP/CRM tools and common Shopify apps; basic HTML/CSS a plus (not required).
- Proven experience integrating e-commerce platforms with third-party systems (inventory, fulfillment, analytics).
- Hands-on skills in digital tools: Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Omnisend, Google Analytics, etc.
- Strong technical aptitude: comfortable with APIs, automations, and workflow tools (Zapier, Make, etc.).
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to systematize processes.
- Leadership mindset — ability to set direction, create standards, and manage execution. Clear communicator who can set standards, document processes, and keep cross-functional work moving.
