About the Role
We are an early-stage venture building a new mission-driven mobile product in health & wellness. We are hiring a Senior Engineer to own the mobile and backend stack end-to-end and set the technical foundation for scale.
This role spans architecture, mobile, backend, and infrastructure. You will be responsible for setting the engineering quality bar. You will be part of a small team with high ownership and direct access to the CEO.
Technical Stack
- Mobile: React Native + TypeScript
- Cloud: GCP
- DevOps: CI/CD
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience, with proven 0-to-1 / early-stage work.
- Experience shipping mobile apps (ideally React Native).
- Strong backend skills: Ability to build APIs and data models from scratch.
- Comfortable owning architecture.
- Self-directed and capable of working in an ambiguous, early-stage environment.
Logistics
- Contract Terms: 1099, 40 hours/week.
- Location: Chicago preferred for in-person time with the CEO; remote (US) considered.
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the US as an independent contractor. No visa sponsorship available.
