About the Role
PluggedIn is seeking an AI-native backend engineer to join our team. We are building internal systems, portals, APIs, and operational infrastructure for clients in regulated and operationally complex industries. This is a part-time contractor role with the potential for long-term growth.
What "AI-native" Means
You actively use AI tooling in your daily development workflow (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) and are proficient in its use. You understand when to leverage AI and when not to.
Responsibilities
- Help us ship backend systems.
Requirements
- Strong PostgreSQL
- Strong TypeScript + Node.js
- Backend architecture experience
- API design / integration experience
- Git/GitHub
- Testing experience
Nice to Have
- React
- Supabase
- React Hook Form + Zod
- Cloudflare/AWS/Azure
- AI-assisted dev workflows
Bonus
- Fintech or insurtech background
- Experience building internal tools / operational systems / portals / workflow-heavy apps
