About the Role
We are a small team of neurodiversity-affirming Occupational Therapists seeking a freelance Digital Accessibility Consultant to support a college's Cybersecurity & IT programs. The consultant will review EdTech tools for compliance with WCAG 2.2, ADA, Section 504, and related standards.
Details:
- Type: Contract, part-time (hours vary by project)
- Schedule: Remote, flexible
- Pay: $40-$50/hr depending on experience
- Target Audience: Primarily neurodivergent adults (bonus if you’re familiar or interested in accessibility + universal design)
- Hours: ~15-30 hrs/week (reviewing 3-5 tools per week). Hours may vary depending on project needs
- Duration: September 2025 – March/April 2026 (project-based, potential for ongoing work)
- Location: Fully remote, flexible schedule
- Work: Assess and document accessibility issues across a wide range of external learning tools (e.g., CompTIA, uCertify, AWS, HTB, etc.). Provide prioritized recommendations, track issues in spreadsheets, and conduct one round of retesting.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2, ADA, Section 504, Title IX)
- Strong knowledge of manual and automated accessibility testing methods (keyboard-only, screen readers, contrast, automated scans, etc.)
- Experience auditing and reporting on accessibility issues across tools/platforms
- Ability to prioritize findings based on severity, student impact, and compliance risk
- EdTech or higher-ed experience is a big plus
