Location: Berlin, Germany (Hybrid)

About the Role

Talonic is looking for our first dedicated Staff Site Reliability Engineer. We specialize in enterprise document ingestion—capturing a document once into a canonical field registry and projecting it to any schema without re-extraction.

As the founding SRE, you will be responsible for building our reliability culture from the ground up. We are looking for someone to implement SLOs, establish an error-budget policy that is actually honored, build observability worth paging on, conduct post-mortems that drive architectural change, and create a deployment process that nobody dreads. Our reliability target is 99.9%.

Technical Stack

  • Cloud: AWS
  • Infrastructure: Docker, Railway (willingness to learn Railway is fine if you haven't used it)
  • Workflow: We ship with Claude Code day-to-day.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: €80,000 – €90,000
  • Equity: VSOP included

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain SLOs and error-budget policies.
  • Build and maintain robust observability and monitoring systems.
  • Lead post-mortem processes to improve architectural resilience.
  • Manage deployment pipelines to ensure stability and developer confidence.
  • Ensure reliability and audit compliance (GDPR, ISO 27001/42001, HIPAA).

Hiring Process

  1. Founder Chat: Be prepared to discuss a Sev1 incident you have owned.
  2. Paid Work Day: Build something real with the team.
  3. Team Fit Interview.
  4. References.
