[Hiring] 3D Product Modeler Needed - 2 Accurate PET Bottle Models from Engineering Drawings
Source: reddit-r-forhire
Project Overview
I am looking for an experienced 3D product/packaging modeler to create accurate, photorealistic 3D models of two clear PET bottles.
Note: This is not an AI approximation or generic stock bottle project. I have manufacturer technical drawings, exact dimensions, real product photographs, closure/sprayer references, and label dimensions available. Detailed technical drawings and additional reference files will be shared privately with shortlisted applicants.
The goal is to create reusable master assets for ecommerce product renders, website images, advertising, packaging visualization, and future label variations.
Bottle Specifications
Bottle 1: 16 oz PET Bullet
- Manufacturer ID: 16 oz Bullet Round, Mold 6462, 24-410 neck finish.
- Dimensions: 7.707" overall height, 2.470" diameter, ~5.282" straight label/body height.
- Requirements: Model must accurately follow the engineering drawing, including the bottle profile, shoulder, base, neck, and thread geometry.
Bottle 2: Larger PET Bullet
- Manufacturer ID: B1114CL - 750 mL / 24 oz PET Bullet, M28SP410 neck finish.
- Dimensions: 8.908" overall height, 2.830" diameter, 6.425" maximum label height.
- Capacity: ~765 mL B.O.N. capacity and 772.5 mL overflow capacity.
- Note: Dimensions from the technical drawing take priority over photographic proportions.
Components & Model Setup
For the 16 oz bottle, the following must be created as separate, editable objects:
- Clear PET bottle
- Clear/transparent liquid
- White screw cap
- Clear trigger sprayer
- Internal dip tube
- Replaceable label/decal
- Cameras
- Studio lighting
Interchangeability: The screw cap and trigger sprayer must be interchangeable without modifying the bottle model.
Technical Requirements
- Transparent PET Quality: Experience modeling and rendering clear PET, plastic, or glass is essential. The model must feature realistic wall thickness, refraction, highlights, reflections, liquid appearance, and accurate base/shoulder/thread geometry. It must photograph well against a white ecommerce background.
- Replaceable Label System: A clean UV/decal setup is required to allow for label artwork replacement without remodeling or remapping. The label must wrap naturally and be easy for future designers to update.
- Rendering Setup: Create reusable camera and lighting setups for straight front, 45° hero angle, side, back, and elevated angles. The scene must support professional renders for Amazon/ecommerce and allow for both white and transparent backgrounds with toggleable shadows.
Deliverables
Final delivery must include clean, organized, and editable source files:
- Formats:
.BLEND,.FBX,.OBJ,.GLB - Assets: UV maps, label template, materials/textures, camera setups, studio lighting, and material definitions (bottle, liquid, cap, sprayer).
- Test Renders: 16 oz bottle with screw cap, 16 oz bottle with trigger sprayer, larger bottle, transparent-background render, and white-background ecommerce render.
Commercial Usage
- Full commercial usage rights are required.
- The modeler must provide editable source files.
- Models may not be resold, distributed, or uploaded as downloadable assets without permission.
Compensation
Budget: $100 to $170 (depending on work).
How to Apply

- Total price.
- Estimated turnaround time.
- Software used.
- Confirmation that editable source files and commercial rights are included.
- A brief explanation of your approach to the transparent PET material, interchangeable cap/trigger system, and reusable label setup.
