About the Role
We are hiring Information Retrieval Engineers to design scalable, low-latency search and ranking systems that combine traditional IR techniques with neural re-rankers. This is a part-time remote role (20–30 hrs/week).
What You'll Do
- Build indexing and ranking pipelines with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and FAISS
- Develop neural re-rankers using Hugging Face Transformers + PyTorch
- Combine BM25, TF-IDF, and neural models into hybrid frameworks
- Design evaluation workflows with pandas to benchmark retrieval quality
- Optimize pipelines for large-scale, low-latency search
- Integrate systems into production environments via REST APIs
Requirements
- Background in CS, IR, or data engineering
- Strong with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch for large text stores
- Experience with neural search, FAISS, Hugging Face, PyTorch
- Familiarity with BM25, TF-IDF, and hybrid IR techniques
- Data analysis skills with pandas
- Comfortable deploying scalable search pipelines via APIs
Pay & Details
- Hourly Rate: $10.5/hr (weekly pay)
- Weekly Bonus: $500–$1000 for every 5 completed tasks
- Remote, flexible schedule
