- Location: REMOTE (worldwide)
- Type: Contract, fixed fee
- Source: Hacker News
About the Role
Human8e Ltd is an early-stage UK company building a mobile application. We are looking for an applied cryptographer to review a protocol specification before it ships.
This is a one-time piece of contract work, not a permanent role. The scope is narrow, specific, and involves answering six specific questions in writing regarding the soundness of the protocol. This is not an open-ended audit or a penetration test.
Project Details
- Scope: Three messages, two parties, signature-based, using hardware-backed keys on both iOS and Android.
- Primitives: Uses standard primitives only (ECDSA over P-256, SHA-256) and invents no new cryptography.
- Status: The specification is written and frozen, with test vectors and the generator that produces them.
- Process: Work will be conducted under a short mutual NDA.
Requirements
- Proven experience in protocol security.
- Must have either published on protocol security or reviewed protocols professionally.
- Note: Being proficient with crypto libraries is not sufficient for this specific task.
How to Apply
Please email clive@human8e.com by Sunday, 4 October.
Include a short summary of the protocol analysis work you have done. Upon receipt, I will send over the full scope, timing, and specific requirements.
