About Cascade Space
Cascade Space is building ground-based infrastructure to support missions to the moon and beyond. Instead of single large dishes, we're building arrays of dishes combined with a digital beamformer into one large aperture — comparable to a NASA Deep Space Network 34m dish. We raised our seed round last year and this is our first mechanical engineering hire.
About the Role
You'll own mechanical integration of vendor dish systems with our in-house RF hardware (feeds, LNAs, amplifiers). This includes:
- Packaging for ultra-low-noise electronics that must survive outdoor conditions.
- Alignment and tolerance strategy.
- Structural and environmental testing.
- On-site deployment and commissioning for our first array.
- Full project lifecycle from CAD to field install.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing and deploying complex hardware systems.
- Experience integrating electronics into outdoor/exposed environments.
- Expertise in thermal management of sensitive electronics.
- Experience with precision mechanical assemblies.
- Proven ability to own vendor and fab-shop relationships.
- Bonus: RF/antenna experience is a plus, but not required.
