About the Role

Location: United States (Remote)

Legrand is seeking a Sr. Field Sales Engineer-Access and Control to join the Data Center Power & Control Division. This is a client-facing sales position focused on identifying, prospecting, and closing deals for Raritan/Legrand Access and Control (KVM) & serial console products. The Sr. FSE will work with TSMs and RVPs to target high-revenue projects, providing specialized expertise in KVM, serial console, and related technologies. The Sr. FSE will advise on best practices and design solutions to meet client expectations.

The Sr. Field Sales Engineer-Access and Control should have a strong understanding of data center, lab, and A/V environments, including network, compute, storage, and A/V environments. The Sr. FSE will serve as a trusted advisor to the customer, providing insight and expertise to assist the client and maximize sales success.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in new account acquisition, focusing on large Fortune 500 data center clients.
  • Produce and provide detailed layouts and BOM for access and control designs.
  • Meet with key customers and decision-makers to develop effective relationships.
  • Meet assigned revenue and profit targets for targeted accounts and projects.
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs.
  • Effectively manage customer accounts through excellent communication and adherence to channel rules.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on the status and performance of customer accounts.
  • Grow annual sales of the KVM Access portfolio.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com for sales organization communication.
  • Effectively engage with the product management team to communicate new feature requests and market trends.

Compensation

  • Salary range: $110,000 - $130,000 per year plus commission

Qualifications

Education:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent trade certification credentials.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of successful sales experience in Data Center Infrastructure.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Experience working with TCP/IP networks, VLANs, and remote management tools and protocols.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows environments, including command-line interface (CLI) tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates a high level of accountability and ownership.
  • Complete understanding of the client's data center infrastructure environment.
  • Strong understanding of data center white space, IT labs, and A/V environments.
  • Maintained strong, long-term relationships with senior-level data center infrastructure Managers/Directors/VPs.
  • Strong ability, inclination, and desire for new business "hunting", prospecting, cold calling, and territory development.
  • Outstanding communication skills and presence.
  • Fluent and dedicated to CRM systems such as Salesforce.com.
  • Develops solutions for both traditional and off-label KVM, serial console, and audio-visual environments.
