Exponent is a financial platform for franchise and multi-location restaurant operators: charge cards, loans, and an AI-powered Accountant that pulls in an operator's POS, bank, payroll and processor data, reconciles it, and automates the monthly close.
About the Role
You'd own core systems in the Accountant:
- Idempotent ingestion from unreliable third-party APIs
- The background jobs that keep thousands of accounts in sync
- The decisions about how LLM classification behaves inside a ledger that has to be right
Full stack, focused on backend architecture. Rails, Postgres, Sidekiq. We ship multiple times a day.
Requirements
We want someone who ships fast and knows when to slow down.
- 5+ years of experience
- Deep experience in any server-side framework (Rails, Django, Phoenix, TypeScript)
- Fluent with AI-assisted development
- Fintech and Rails experience are strong pluses
