AI-enhanced for better readability
Junior Software Engineer – AI Quality & Testing
Remote | Contract | $30–$42/hr
We're hiring on behalf of a client building some pretty cool AI-powered web and mobile products, including next-gen video generation tools. If you like poking at things until they break and writing TypeScript, keep reading.
About the Role
You will be working on testing and evaluating AI-driven products. This role is less about clicking through a checklist and more about finding the weird edge cases nobody thought of.
Responsibilities
- Testing and evaluating AI-driven products
- Writing test cases, documenting bugs, and working directly with product and engineering teams to get things fixed
- Contributing TypeScript code for features, prototypes, and quality tooling
- Digging through user feedback on social platforms to surface real product issues
- Collaborating across product, engineering, and operations — this isn't a siloed QA role
Requirements
- 1–3 years of software engineering experience, solid TypeScript fundamentals
- A portfolio of stuff you've built (this is non-negotiable — side projects absolutely count)
- Comfortable navigating unfamiliar codebases
- Some exposure to testing practices; bonus points for Cypress, Playwright, or Jest
- Genuine curiosity about AI tools, especially video generation tech
- Good written communication — you'll be documenting findings, not just flagging them verbally
Nice to Have
- Prior QA, bug reporting, or user testing experience
- You've actually used AI video tools and have opinions about them
Compensation
- $30–$42/hr
Additional Details
- Fully remote
