I build backend systems and data tools with Python. I've shipped a live product used by 50+ daily commuters across Northwest England ([stopboard.uk](https://stopboard.uk)), a real-time bus departure board powered by FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Celery.

I'm strongest when I own the problem end to end: scoping, building, deploying, and iterating based on real usage. Not just writing code to a spec, but figuring out what the right thing to build is.

What I can help with:

* REST APIs and backend services (FastAPI, Python)

* Data pipelines and ETL

* PostgreSQL database design and optimization

* Geospatial/GIS systems (PostGIS, QGIS)

* Docker containerisation and deployment

* Internal tools and dashboards

Other shipped work: a published QGIS plugin for land use analysis, a web tool for running traffic simulations, and merged contributions to Eclipse SUMO and MovingPandas.

Open to fixed-price projects or short-term contracts. Remote, UK-based. Available to start immediately.

Rate: £30-50/hr or fixed price depending on scope.

DM me with what you need built.
