Job Title: Road Tanker Wagon (RTW) Driver

Purpose

To assure correct, safe, and efficient loading, transportation, and offloading of fuels to various sites in Nassau without incident, and to responsibly operate and care for company vehicles, ensuring a safe return to the depot/terminal.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Assure the highest level of safety awareness and practices at all times.
  • Assist in maintaining the vehicle in clean condition and keep the vehicle cab tidy on a daily basis.
  • Carry out pre-shift/daily vehicle inspections as per policy and deliver to the Supervisor for review. Report any vehicle defects and/or incidents daily.
  • Ensure all specified equipment is available, in good working condition, and on/in the vehicle. Ensure hoses and connections are in good condition and free of leaks.
  • Accurately complete the Driver's Daily Trip Log, including loading time, journey time, maintenance time, waiting time, and number of drops.
  • Ensure all vehicle loading safety requirements are met (e.g., vehicle is bonded, compartment is empty before loading, correct fuel type and quantity is loaded, and PPE is used).
  • Complete Safe Discharge Certificates (SDCs) for each delivery.
  • Document and report any outlets (retail or commercial) that fall short of HSSE requirements using the Unsatisfactory Delivery Conditions Report.
  • Collect cheques at sites and conduct cross-checks to ensure dates, figures, and words coincide; ensure cheques are properly endorsed and match the invoice amount.
  • Hand in cheques and other documents collected at sites upon return to the depot.
  • Achieve zero accidents through trained defensive driving practices.
  • Attend training courses and safety meetings as required.
  • Participate in incident investigations and analysis.
  • Employ customer care techniques to ensure a professional delivery experience and achieve zero customer complaints.
  • Ensure the vehicle has sufficient fuel for each day’s journey.
  • Act as the first responder to fire or spill emergencies on the RTW.
  • Participate in safety audits, assessments, special drills, and exercises (such as oil spill exercises) as required.
  • Immediate reporting of any incidents, occupational injuries, and/or illnesses.

Qualification Requirements

  • A sound secondary education with basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • 3 to 5 years of incident-free driving experience with tractor-trailers and heavy goods vehicles.
  • No drug or alcohol impairments; must be willing to accept the company’s random testing policies.
  • Proper grooming and presentation to represent company values and image.

  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and an attitude to work well with others in teams.
  • Willingness to work in shifts (including night hours, weekends, and holidays) as regulated by local law.
  • Compliance with HSSE and Emergency Codes.
