About the Role
I run a small software company that helps football clubs track complex financial obligations within player contracts—such as appearance bonuses, sell-on clauses, and promotion triggers. While these are known variables, they are rarely modeled properly, often resulting in unbudgeted six-figure payments. We currently have one club using the platform as a design partner.
My challenge is not the product development, but the sales process. The target buyers are club CFOs or Finance Directors. This is a niche market of only a few hundred individuals who are notoriously difficult to reach and often ignore cold outreach from unknown parties.
I am looking for someone to open doors and conduct the initial conversation. I will handle the product demo and the closing process. This is not a high-volume "dial 500 numbers" role; success here relies on industry connections and high-quality, targeted outreach.
Responsibilities
- Identify and reach out to finance decision-makers at football clubs.
- Secure and schedule qualified meetings with CFOs or Finance Directors.
- Manage the initial conversation to gauge interest and set the stage for a demo.
Compensation
- Base Pay: £100 per qualified meeting booked (paid in cash, regardless of whether the deal closes).
- Commission: Additional commission on any closed deals.
- Renewal Share: Ongoing share of renewals.
- Expectations: You can expect roughly 3 to 5 hours of work per meeting booked, ensuring the hourly rate remains competitive.
Requirements & Ideal Fit
- No exclusivity, no minimum hours, and no fixed schedule. This role is designed to fit alongside your existing commitments.
- You are a good fit if you have existing relationships in football finance or the club commercial side.
- Experience in sports, agency work, or selling niche software to hard-to-reach buyers is highly valued.
- UK-based candidates are preferred, but this is not essential.
