About the Role
IVPN is a privacy-focused B2C VPN service that has been operating since 2010. We are independently audited every year and are well-regarded in the privacy community. Alongside our VPN service, we manage additional projects including modDNS, Mailx, and Portmaster.
You will partner with our senior infrastructure engineer to own the day-to-day infrastructure for IVPN and modDNS. Key initiatives include rolling out a new immutable, diskless, bare-metal VPN gateway fleet, improving DNS routing, and automating infrastructure tasks. This is a fully remote role with high autonomy, offering maximum freedom and minimum meetings.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing production Linux environments, including bare-metal.
- 3+ years of experience with a configuration management tool (Ansible, Puppet, or Salt).
- Comfortable scripting in Python, Go, or Bash.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, and SSL/TLS.
- Genuine interest in infosec (public-key crypto, TPM, reproducible builds).
