About the Company
We’re building geologic modelling software based on reasoning to help mining and mineral exploration companies work faster. Our goal is to create a way to enable open-ended, interpretive geologic problem solving to be done programmatically, changing the way to explore for hard rock and critical minerals. We are currently in active fundraising.
About the Role
You will be the founding engineer on the team, joining the co-founders (Neil, CEO and Jeff, CTO) as the first employee. You will have deep influence over systems and architecture, with ownership through the entire stack—from the database and geostatistical backend services to 3D rendering on the client side.
The work is rooted in agentic systems. An understanding of the internals of tools like Claude Code and a broader understanding of orchestrating agents to complete complex discrete tasks is important.
Requirements
- Fluent in: TypeScript and Python.
- Framework/Tooling agnostic: We currently use tools like NextJS, Supabase, and Cesium.
- Domain Interest: Eager to learn about mining domain knowledge related to the software.
- Ownership: Ability to manage the codebase and the systems that support the software (project management, CI/CD, monitoring, etc.).
- Fundamentals: Strong engineering fundamentals around architecture, systems, and security.
- Travel: Open to doing a yearly month abroad with the founders (last year was Oaxaca, Mexico).
- Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in Canada without a VISA requirement.
