[Hiring] Remote Trail Running Coach / Writer for Online Community

Source: reddit-r-forhire Compensation: $100 – $150 / month (Retainer)

About the Community

We run an emerging, supportive online trail running community on Reddit centered around low-pressure movement, mindfulness, real-food fueling, and injury-free running (no elite PR-chasing or rigid pressure).

About the Role

We are seeking a certified trail/ultrarunning coach or experienced endurance writer to act as our Resident Trail Coach. This is a low-friction, remote position focusing purely on helpful written content and engaging with our members online.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

  • Educational Content: Write 2 short, practical posts per month (approx. 300–500 words each) on topics like trail mechanics, knee/joint care, uphill/downhill efficiency, or fueling.
  • Community Q&A: Check into the subreddit 1–2 times per week to reply to member training/injury questions in the comments.
  • Monthly AMA (Optional/Flexible): Host or co-host 1 monthly Ask-Me-Anything thread or structured Q&A topic.
  • Estimated Time Commitment: ~2 to 3 hours total per month.

Qualifications

  • Certified Running/Ultrarunning Coach: (UESCA, RRCA, CSCS, or equivalent experience/background).
  • Communication: Strong, empathetic written communication style—able to explain form and movement simply without heavy jargon.
  • Culture Fit: Passion for inclusive, non-competitive running culture.

Pay & Perks

  • Budget: $100 – $150 USD per month flat retainer (paid monthly via PayPal, Venmo, or your preferred platform).
  • Self-Promotion: You will receive an official "Resident Coach" flair/badge on the subreddit, and you are welcome to include a subtle link to your personal coaching website or 1-on-1 services at the bottom of your guides.

How to Apply

Please send a Direct Message (DM) with the following:

  1. A brief intro about your coaching/running background and certifications.
  2. 1–2 writing samples or links to helpful posts/articles you’ve written.
  3. Why this low-pressure trail running vibe appeals to you!
