Contract Business Development Manager - E-commerce / Marketplace / Live Commerce
We are hiring a Contract Business Development Manager for a fast-growing social commerce / marketplace platform.
This role focuses on acquiring and onboarding high-potential merchants in categories such as collectibles, luxury resale, art, nature-related products, and other marketplace-driven categories. The ideal candidate has experience in business development, seller acquisition, vendor acquisition, e-commerce, marketplace operations, or livestream commerce.
Responsibilities
- Identify, engage, and onboard qualified merchants/sellers to the platform
- Manage outreach through calls, emails, video meetings, and other channels
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective merchants
- Pitch platform value propositions and educate sellers on onboarding requirements
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to support onboarding and integration
- Assist newly onboarded merchants with initial live commerce / content commerce operations
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in business development, vendor acquisition, seller acquisition, or e-commerce platforms
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage pipelines and drive merchant acquisition outcomes
- Familiarity with platform onboarding processes
- Experience with collectibles, luxury resale, marketplace sellers, or livestream e-commerce is a plus
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Compensation
- $30/hour base pay
- Performance bonus available
- $500 bonus for each graduated target merchant
- $100 bonus for each graduated qualified merchant
- No cap on total bonus earnings
