PagerDuty: Principal Solutions Consultant
Headquarters: Remote (USA)
About PagerDuty
PagerDuty, Inc. (NYSE: PD) is the global leader in AI-first digital operations. By automatically detecting, diagnosing, and remediating issues, the PagerDuty Platform orchestrates AI agents and automated workflows with context from over 750 integrations. Trusted by approximately two-thirds of the Fortune 100 and nearly half of the Fortune 500, PagerDuty is the industry standard for organizations scaling resilient, autonomous operations. Notable customers include Chipotle, Cloudflare, Docusign, Fox, Nvidia, Salesforce, Spotify, Zoom and more.
The Role
PagerDuty is seeking a Principal Solutions Consultant to join our talented, customer-focused team. You will be a key strategic leader and the "technical face" of PagerDuty across the US region. This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Engineering. You will partner with CTOs, CIOs, and VPs of Engineering at the US’s most influential enterprises to redefine how they manage digital operations, resilience, and automation.
You will act as a bridge between our customers’ long-term strategic needs and PagerDuty’s product roadmap, evangelizing the PagerDuty Operations Cloud, mentoring technical sales teams, and acting as a trusted advisor to the C-suite on topics ranging from AIOps and SRE maturity to digital transformation and cloud migration.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a peer and advisor to customer CTOs and CIOs, helping them navigate complex digital transformations and operationalizing the PagerDuty Operations Cloud.
- Represent PagerDuty as a thought leader at major industry events and through digital content, white-papers, and local media.
- Partner closely with Global Product and Engineering leadership in San Francisco to ensure the unique requirements of the US markets are represented in our long-term roadmap.
- Provide architectural oversight and executive presence for our most complex, high-stakes enterprise opportunities across the US.
- Foster a local community of DevOps and SRE leaders, sharing best practices on operational excellence, incident response, and the ethical application of AI in operations.
- Stay ahead of the curve on the competitive landscape, identifying market shifts and technical trends that PagerDuty can capitalize on.
Who You Are
- You have a deep-seated passion for the future of digital operations and can articulate where the industry is heading in 3–5 years.
- You are equally comfortable white-boarding a complex microservices architecture with a Lead Architect as you are presenting a business value case to a Board of Directors.
- You have a strong technical foundation and understand the "pains" of the modern developer.
- You are focused on ensuring customers achieve their desired outcomes and see PagerDuty as a mission-critical partner.
Minimum Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in technical leadership, solutions architecture, or product management within the SaaS, DevOps, or Cloud infrastructure space.
- Proven track record of engaging with and influencing C-level executives at Fortune 500 or equivalent global enterprises.
- Proven ability to support and influence sales cycles with a solid grasp of sales processes and customer buying journeys.
- Deep domain expertise in at least three of the following: Incident Management, SRE (Site Reliability Engineering), AIOps, Cloud Native Architectures, ITSM/ITIL, or Cybersecurity Incident Response.
- Exceptional public speaking and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel across the US and occasionally overseas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active involvement in the tech community (mentorship, open-source contribution, or advisory/board positions).
- Experience navigating the regulatory landscape for US financial services or government sectors (e.g., FedRAMP) as it relates to cloud resiliency.
