Mercor is seeking Economics PhDs for a fully remote project with a leading global AI lab. This is a flexible, asynchronous contract role where you'll apply your domain expertise to help create high-quality data that will drive future AI innovations.
About the Role
- Position: Economics Subject Matter Expert (PhD)
- Commitment: ~20 hours/week initially, with potential extension to 40 hours/week
- Duration: Minimum 1-2 months, ongoing with rolling applications
- Work Setup: 100% remote and asynchronous — work from anywhere at your own pace
- Pay Rate: $70-$90/hour
Requirements
- PhD in Economics from a top university in the US, UK, Canada, or Europe
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Comfortable with flexible, self-managed work schedules
Process & Payment
- Short screening via AI interview and written form (~20-30 minutes)
- Paid weekly as an hourly contractor through Stripe Connect
