The Role
We're hiring a senior individual contributor (IC) to own meaningful parts of the native infrastructure underneath our platform. This is platform-team work at the seam between Windows, third-party game engines, and our product.
You will make architecture calls that the rest of engineering will rely on for years. You will measure success by what other teams ship on top of your foundation, rather than just what you personally wrote. Recent projects include a plugin system for safe in-process extensions; current work includes a Lua scripting layer on top of that system.
Requirements
- Experience: 7+ years of C++ experience, with meaningful time spent on tools, engines, or platform systems where your users were other engineers.
- Windows Internals: Deep knowledge of Windows native development, including Win32/64, DLL lifecycles, hooking, IPC, process/thread management, WinDbg, and Process Monitor.
- Concurrency: Strong concurrent programming skills; you can spot race conditions and ordering bugs in code reviews without a checklist.
- Extensibility: Experience with plugin/extensibility systems; you have designed interfaces that others have built upon and have lived with the results.
- Mindset: Outcome-oriented and low-ego.
