About the Role

We are looking for people to work with Data Engineering, to be the driving force behind a modernization project: the migration of our on-premise Data Warehouses to a modern Data Lakehouse architecture in the cloud (Microsoft Azure).

In this role, you will work on the front lines of technical and functional mapping, building pipelines and reconstruction patterns for the Silver and Gold layers and ensuring that the transition from legacy to Azure is fluid, performant, and governed.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement complex and scalable data architectures using Python/PySpark and SQL, ensuring high availability and low operational cost standards.
  • Define modeling standards (Medallion Architecture) for the Lakehouse, ensuring that structures such as Star Schema and One Big Tables (OBTs) meet both technical performance and business needs.
  • Establish and promote CI/CD practices, automated data quality testing, and proactive cost and performance monitoring in the Databricks/Azure environment.
  • Act as the focal point for solving complex problems, mentoring less experienced professionals, and positively influencing the team's engineering culture.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows/Jobs and Pipelines) and orchestrators such as Azure Data Factory or Airflow.
  • Experience in query optimization, Spark tuning, and handling large volumes of data.
  • Proven ability to transform ambiguous business requirements into robust data models (Facts, Dimensions, and abstraction layers).
  • Familiarity with good development practices (GitFlow, clean code, modularization, and design patterns).
  • Ability to navigate high-uncertainty environments, refining processes and translating executive needs into tangible technical solutions.
