About the Company
Arboreal Management is a fast-growing, tech-enabled property management company. We manage over 9,000 apartments across the Pacific Northwest, with a growth rate of 40–50% per annum. Over the last several years, we have been building our own software platform, Maynard, to power our operations.
We are not a software company and do not intend to become one. We do not plan to build a large engineering organization. Instead, we believe a small number of highly skilled engineers can have enormous leverage within an operating company where existing software solutions are often inadequate.
About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional senior engineer to become the principal technical builder on our small team.
This is primarily a builder role, not an engineering management position. You will work directly with the CEO (who has a CS/math background) and a small team. We are looking for someone who excels at designing and building production software, desires high levels of ownership, and enjoys seeing their work directly impact business operations within weeks.
What You Will Build
Our platform, Maynard, already supports leasing, property operations, communications, maintenance, document processing, and reporting. We are currently working on:
- Payments and treasury systems.
- Replacing components of our property management ERP.
- Implementing LLMs to automate workflows that previously required manual document processing or data entry.

- Languages/Frameworks: TypeScript, Node.js, SvelteKit
- Database: Postgres
- Infrastructure: Azure, Cloudflare
