About the Role
I am a self-published dark fantasy author looking for a creative content creator to help build my author brand on TikTok and Instagram. This is not a traditional social media management role; I am looking for someone who can create "scroll-stopping" content that builds a long-term audience and encourages readers to engage with my books.
I will provide all necessary assets, including:
- Book cover and artwork
- Amazon reviews
- Quotes and excerpts
- Character and world-building information
- Additional ideas and assets as we collaborate
Responsibilities
- Create engaging TikTok videos and Instagram Reels.
- Write strong hooks that grab attention in the first few seconds.
- Edit videos using CapCut or similar software.
- Stay updated on current TikTok and Instagram trends.
- Repurpose content across multiple platforms.
- Proactively suggest new content ideas rather than just editing provided material.
Content Strategy
I aim to post consistently with content such as:
- Review showcases
- Book quotes
- Character introductions
- World-building videos
- Fantasy-themed edits
- "If you liked X, you'll love this..." style recommendations
- Creative promotional ideas
Requirements
- Experience creating BookTok or author-related content is a huge advantage, but not essential if you can demonstrate excellent storytelling through short-form video.
- Strong editing skills and creative vision.
- Excellent communication and reliability for a long-term partnership.
Trial & Ongoing Compensation
- Paid Trial: 3–5 videos for a budget of £50–£100 (depending on experience and portfolio).
- Ongoing Arrangement: Approximately £200–£400 per month for 20–30 videos, with scope to increase as the author brand grows.
