About the Role
I am looking for a senior WooCommerce developer to help audit, stabilize, and optimize an e-commerce vape store built on WordPress.
This is not a build-from-scratch project. The store was previously on Shopify and has been migrated to WooCommerce. The current developer has completed the majority of the migration, and the store is approximately 80% complete.
This project is time-sensitive; we are 5 days from launch and need someone who can make this project their priority over the next week. Due to previous communication delays caused by timezone differences, I need someone who can communicate quickly and effectively. My goal is to recreate the speed and simplicity of our previous Shopify website.
Responsibilities
- Perform a full audit of the current store.
- Identify why the store feels slower and less responsive than the Shopify version and implement solutions.
- Execute performance improvements.
- Ensure the checkout, cart, and customer workflow are stable.
- Review current plugin choices and recommend better alternatives if necessary.
- Ensure all changes are thoroughly tested to prevent breaking existing functionality.
- Provide expert recommendations and solutions (I have minimal technical knowledge, so I need a proactive partner, not just a task-taker).
- Make necessary cosmetic changes to the website.
Requirements
- Great communication skills are mandatory.
- Ability to prioritize this project for the next week.
- Proven experience with WooCommerce and WordPress performance optimization.
- Ability to provide recommendations and solutions independently.
