AI-enhanced for better readability
Trinsic | Senior Product Engineer
Location: REMOTE (Europe or North America) Type: Full-time Source: Hacker News
We're building the first Identity Acceptance Network, the "Visa for ID." Humanity is editing genes, starting space tourism, and verging on artificial general intelligence. Meanwhile, identity verification is still done by taking pictures of plastic cards.
About the Role
- Senior Product Engineer: You will be #5 on the team, representing ~20% of engineering capacity. This role requires high ownership and a product-minded approach with a backend and systems focus.
- End-to-End Ownership: This is not a ticket-churning role. You should want to understand the competitive landscape, listen in on customer calls, bring engineering insight to product discussions, and own features from start to finish.
- Autonomy: We are looking for a "Barrel"—someone who can take on ambiguous work, pull together the right context, make tradeoffs explicit, and drive projects without needing to be told every next step.
- Technical Scope: Strong backend/platform experience is required, with enough generalist skill to move up and down the stack as the product needs.
- Privacy & Security: You must care deeply about user privacy and data security. We work on identity; sloppiness is not an option.
Stack & Ways of Working
- Tech Stack: .NET (C#) backend, React + TypeScript frontend, Azure Container Apps, Azure SQL/Storage, Bicep IaC, and GitHub CI/CD.
- Remote Culture: Remote-first; North America (CT +/- 2) or Europe (CET +/- 1). We prioritize strong async work habits, averaging 4 hours/week of scheduled meetings, with pairing/huddles used when useful.
- AI Integration: We use AI aggressively and prudently. You will have a large token budget, but we expect strong judgment regarding the risks.
Compensation
- Salary is set by our compensation philosophy, with meaningful equity. We discuss compensation early so neither side wastes time.
