Compensation
Wage Range: $55/hr to $58/hr (W2 Only)
Responsibilities
- Devises, develops, or modifies procedures to solve complex scientific application problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
- Prepares detailed specifications from which scientific domain-specific programs will be written.
- Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and validates those programs.
- Indicate how they will work with the team to resolve challenges.
- Scientifically competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.
- May be responsible for completion of a phase of a project.
- Regularly provides guidance and training to less-experienced analysts/programmers.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in either a Scientific or Computer Science/Engineering discipline
- Experience: 5+ years of related experience
- Technical Skills:
- Cloud Applications, Cloud Computing, Computer Programming, Design, High-Performance Computing (HPC) Systems
- Experience in porting applications to both on-premise and cloud-based HPC systems
- Experience in performance analysis and optimization tuning
- Ability to provide implementation support of complex scientific workflows and associated applications
- Experienced in the identification and containerizing of scientific applications and user-based solutions that are suitable for containerization
- Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Ability to meet project milestones with minimal supervision
- Ability to work and collaborate in a remote team environment
- Preferred Skills:
- Able to work seamlessly within a Linux environment
- Compiler experience (examples C, C++, and Fortran)
- Python code development (desired, but not required)
