Role Summary
Ehvert Mission Critical, a business unit within Salas O’Brien, is seeking an experienced independent contractor (self-employed professional) for a long-term contractual engagement. You will partner with us to support the design and coordination of cutting-edge data center projects across the U.S.
In this role, you will be responsible for modeling, designing power distribution, security and life systems, standby generators, and UPS systems. You will perform calculations, prepare technical documentation, and ensure design accuracy using advanced BIM and electrical engineering tools. You will collaborate closely with other disciplines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, contributing to the full project lifecycle from schematic design through execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing a thorough understanding and delivery of project requirements regarding scope, cost, and schedule.
- Determining and expediting engineering deliverables for projects.
- Developing and maintaining project scope of work documentation and revisions.
- Designing electrical systems, including power distribution, UPS, standby generators, and security/life systems.
- Preparing engineering calculations, schematic designs, and detailed designs.
- Preparing technical documentation including design criteria, process flow sheets, and specifications/data sheets for electrical equipment.
- Reviewing shop drawings.
- Producing models and drawings in various BIM and CAD modeling tools.
- Using BIM tools (e.g., Autodesk Revit) to virtually construct electrical systems and coordinate with other disciplines.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
- Proven expertise as an electrical engineer.
- Written and spoken English (B1 level or higher).
- Experience in electrical design for industrial, residential, and commercial sectors (medium/low voltage distribution, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection).
- Experience in various electrical modeling software.
- Hands-on experience with: Revit, AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, and Dialux.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Deep knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet project deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical knowledge clearly.
