About Albs
Albs is an AI research lab in stealth, building real-time multimodal models (text, speech, vision) that run on-device. We treat model architecture, inference, and runtime as one system, so our models hit tight budgets for latency, power, and hardware cost. We are well-funded, have dedicated compute for large-scale training, and publish at top venues.
We are a small team of senior researchers and engineers. The default is 3 days a week in our Freiburg office; remote with regular visits is possible.
Open Roles
We are adding a few senior people in the following areas:
- Research: LLM pre-training, post-training, speech, vision-language models, and model adaptation.
- Engineering: Inference and hardware optimization (C++/Rust, CUDA, SIMD, NPUs), data pipelines (text and multimodal), and agentic platform.
Requirements
- Research roles: Typically a PhD plus several years of experience, or an equivalent track record.
- Engineering roles: Several years of hands-on experience in the area.
