Job Description

insightsoftware is seeking a User Interface Designer to join the newly established UX team within the Certent Equity Management (CEM) product organization. Reporting to the UX Manager, Equity, this role is responsible for designing intuitive, visually consistent, and production-ready interfaces across the CEM platform—translating complex equity compensation workflows into clean, usable experiences for plan administrators, finance teams, participants, and broker partners.

This role is foundational; you will help establish the design system, component library, and visual language that will define the CEM platform experience across both the existing product and the next-generation architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Interface Design & Execution

  • Design wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and final UI specifications for features and enhancements across all CEM product domains.
  • Translate PRDs, user stories, and functional requirements into thoughtful interface designs that account for the complexity of equity compensation workflows.
  • Design for the full spectrum of interaction patterns in an equity management SaaS platform (data entry, inline editing, bulk operations, search/filtering, drill-down navigation, etc.).
  • Iterate rapidly on designs based on feedback from UX Researchers, Product Managers, Engineering, and customer input.

Design System & Component Library

  • Partner with the UX Manager to create and maintain a unified design system and component library for the CEM platform.
  • Design and document reusable UI components (form controls, data tables, navigation patterns, status indicators, etc.) with clear usage guidelines and accessibility annotations.
  • Define and evolve the visual language of the CEM platform (typography, color, spacing, iconography).
  • Maintain the design system as a living resource as the platform scales.

Research Collaboration & User-Centered Design

  • Partner with UX Researchers to incorporate research findings, usability test results, and customer feedback into design decisions.
  • Participate in research sessions (usability tests, interviews, contextual inquiries) to build empathy for users.
  • Use research insights to validate design hypotheses and refine interfaces.
  • Apply domain knowledge of equity compensation to anticipate user expectations.

Product Collaboration & Engineering Handoff

  • Partner with Product Managers to translate complex specifications into clear, implementable interface designs.
  • Deliver detailed design specifications and annotated mockups for engineering.
  • Collaborate with front-end engineering to ensure design intent is preserved through implementation.
  • Support platform modernization by contributing to the next-generation architecture.

Accessibility & Quality Standards

  • Apply accessible design practices (WCAG 2.1 AA) consistently across all work.
  • Conduct design QA reviews to identify visual and interaction gaps before release.
  • Establish design quality standards that reflect the precision required for a regulated financial services platform.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Present design work to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, articulating design rationale and trade-offs.
  • Create and maintain design documentation to support cross-functional understanding.
  • Participate in customer advisory sessions as needed.
  • Contribute visual assets and UI previews for Product Marketing and sales enablement.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 3+ years of UI design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end work on complex, data-intensive enterprise applications.
  • 2+ years of experience designing for financial services, fintech, equity compensation, or similar regulated B2B SaaS platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and contributing to design systems and component libraries.
  • Proven ability to design for complex interaction patterns while maintaining usability.
  • Experience collaborating with UX researchers and participating in usability testing.
  • Strong experience working with engineering teams in Agile environments.

Technical & Domain Knowledge

  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma (component architecture, auto-layout, design tokens, prototyping).
  • Strong understanding of interaction design principles for enterprise applications.
  • Solid understanding of equity compensation concepts (RSUs, ESPP, vesting schedules, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of front-end implementation considerations (HTML/CSS, responsive behavior).
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA).
  • Understanding of data-dense UI patterns.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Visual Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing for equity administration platforms such as Certent Equity Management.
  • Experience designing financial reporting interfaces.
  • Experience leading a design system buildout from scratch.
  • Experience supporting platform migration or modernization efforts.
  • Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced SaaS company.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $88,000.00 – $111,000.00 USD Annual.
  • Your specific offer will be determined by your skills, experience, and qualifications.
  • Non-sales roles may be eligible for a bonus; sales roles include a commission target.

  • All information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
  • Background checks are required for employment where permitted by law.
