Job Title: [Hiring] Python/JS Developer for a web-based 911 Dispatch Simulator Game
Source: reddit-r-forhire
About the Project
I am building a browser-based dispatch simulator and am looking for help to take the project beyond my current skillset. The game is a police/fire/EMS dispatch management simulation where you run a city's emergency services across shifts, handle incoming calls, decide on staffing, and manage a budget and reputation over time.
Key features include:
- A live animated map.
- A config-driven system for adding new content without touching code.
- A growing set of interlocking mechanics.
Responsibilities
I am looking for assistance in the following areas:
- Backend (Python/Flask): Developing new gameplay systems, game logic, and extending the config system.
- Frontend (JS, HTML/CSS): UI polish, creating new panels/modals, and implementing map interactions (Leaflet).
- Game Design & Balance: Tuning the economy/difficulty and shaping new features.
- Playtesting: Providing feedback and testing (Nice to have).
Scope
This is an evolving hobby project. I would prefer to structure this as a handful of clearly defined tasks or features rather than an open-ended commitment, at least to start.
Compensation
- Budget: I have a small budget available. I will always agree on a rate or flat fee with you before any work begins.
- Credit: You will receive full credit in the game.
- Future Potential: If this project grows, early contributors will receive first consideration for paid, ongoing work.
Requirements
- Please reply to the original post with your portfolio if you are interested.
- Note: Your Reddit account must be older than 4 years to be considered.
