Proxybase | Backend Systems Engineer (Rust)

Location: Remote (Global / Async-friendly) Type: Full-Time Website: https://proxybase.xyz

About Proxybase

I’m the founder of Proxybase. We’re building an agentic SOCKS5 proxy network designed to bring transparency and ethical sourcing to the residential proxy market.

A note to previous applicants: If you applied last month and haven't heard back, we apologize for the delay. We received a high volume of high-quality applications and are actively reviewing those alongside this new batch.

Our Mission

Historically, the residential proxy industry has been opaque, often involving hidden background scrapers bundled into firmware or predatory payout systems. We are taking a different approach:

  • Fully Open-Source Clients: Our GUI and CLI are completely open-source for full transparency.
  • Explicit Consent: Providers knowingly opt-in; we do not use stealth bundling.
  • Instant, Fair Payouts: $1 minimum payout threshold sent directly to provider wallets via US stablecoins.

The Role

We’re looking for a Backend Systems Engineer (Rust) to help us build out our asynchronous SOCKS5 routing infrastructure, daemon node orchestration, and automated bandwidth allocation pipelines.

Technical Stack

  • Language: Rust (Tokio / Axum)
  • Protocols: SOCKS5
  • Infrastructure: Linux systemd daemons
  • Database: SQLite

Compensation

  • Salary: Competitive
  • Equity: Included
  • Payment Options: USD or stablecoin options available

How to Apply

If you are interested in building infrastructure for an industry that desperately needs better standards, please send an email to jobs@proxybase.xyz with:

  • Your GitHub profile
  • Your resume
  • A short note on what you’ve been working on lately

I am also available in the comments if you have any questions or feedback on what we're building.
