The Role

The Underwriter is responsible for evaluating and underwriting both Personal and Commercial Lines risks in accordance with Company guidelines, delegated authority levels, regulatory requirements, and sound underwriting principles. The role supports profitable growth, service excellence, quality documentation, renewal retention, and effective collaboration across the underwriting value chain.

The Person

To be the ideal candidate, you must possess the following:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Education (Assets):
    • Completed or pursuing Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Diploma Level or equivalent insurance qualification.
    • Completed or pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Insurance & Risk Management, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Sound judgment and attention to detail.
