[Hiring] YouTube Documentary Video Editor - $70 USD per 29-minute Video (Long-Term)

Source: reddit-r-forhire

I'm looking for a creative and reliable video editor to help produce long-form documentary videos for a faceless YouTube channel focused on finance, business, economics, and wealth education. This is a long-term freelance opportunity for the right person.

Compensation

  • Rate: $70 USD per completed 29-minute video
  • Volume: 1 video per week
  • Payment: Paid after each completed project
  • Trial: No unpaid trial – if a trial edit is requested, it will be paid.

Project Scope

This position is for editors experienced in documentary-style YouTube content using stock footage and basic motion graphics. The workflow is streamlined because I provide the voiceover, script, brand assets, and editing guidelines.

What I Will Provide

  • Professional voiceover
  • Final script
  • Brand assets
  • Character reference images
  • Editing guidelines

Your Responsibilities

  • Edit the supplied voiceover
  • Source relevant high-quality stock footage
  • Add cinematic background music
  • Create clean subtitles
  • Add smooth transitions
  • Add basic motion graphics
  • Deliver a polished YouTube-ready video

Style

I'm looking for modern, engaging documentary editing with excellent pacing, strong visual storytelling, and professional production quality.

Reference videos will be shared only to demonstrate the desired editing quality and pacing. They are for inspiration only—the final videos must be completely original and should not copy another creator's branding, animations, or creative assets.

Requirements

  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
  • Experience editing YouTube documentaries, educational, business, or finance content
  • Good communication
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong portfolio

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with finance channels
  • Experience with business documentaries
  • Proficiency in motion graphics
  • Strong storytelling through stock footage

How to Apply

Please send me a Reddit DM with:

  • Your portfolio
  • 2–3 documentary or YouTube videos you've edited
  • The software you use
  • Your estimated turnaround time for a 29-minute video

Note: Start your message with "DOCUMENTARY" so I know you've read the entire post. I'm looking for someone interested in building a long-term working relationship as the channel grows.
