About the Role
We're looking for incredible mathematicians with genuine personality. If you have a top maths degree and people find you easy to talk to, we want to hear from you.
The role involves conducting four live Zoom sessions a week with GCSE students across the UK.
Schedule
- Foundation Sessions: Tuesday evenings (5:00 PM – 8:00 PM UK time)
- Higher Sessions: Sunday mornings (11:00 AM – 1:30 PM UK time)
- Flexibility: Ideally, you are free for both, but we can be flexible if you are only available for one.
- Future Scope: There is potential for one-to-one coaching alongside group sessions in the future.
Compensation
- Session Pay: £75 per hour
- Additional Work: £40 per hour (e.g., resource building or prep, if needed)
Requirements
- A top maths degree.
- Comfortable with higher-tier GCSE and A Level curriculum.
- A natural way with teenagers and a genuine care for the process of helping young people understand mathematics.
- Deep knowledge of the UK GCSE system.
- Reliable availability for the scheduled session times.
- You can be based anywhere, provided you meet the scheduling requirements.
Employment Details
- Status: Freelance to start.
- Timeline: You can begin before the end of term or over the summer, with the aim of building into regular work from September.
- Growth: Mathmo is growing fast, with plans to expand into A Level, 11+, SATs, and more.
