About the Role:
Root Sustainability helps retail brands transform scattered operational data into auditable, high-granularity sustainability insights. They tackle complex data, messy ERP exports, and intricate supply chains to make sustainability data simple, clear, and usable.
Responsibilities:
- Own UX/UI end-to-end: research, flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished interfaces.
- Focus on usability, accessibility, and simplicity.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering.
- Lead design for key features: mapping, dashboards, workflows.
- Translate complex sustainability problems into user-centered interfaces.
- Build prototypes and conduct user testing.
- Maintain and evolve a design system (Figma, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with engineers, shipping frequently.
Requirements:
- ~5+ years of experience in UX/UI with a strong portfolio.
- Pragmatic approach: prioritize clarity over trends, iteration over perfection.
- Ability to thrive in early-stage environments.
- Knowledge of design systems, user research, and the ability to defend design decisions.
