About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Adobe After Effects artist to assist with a specific VFX challenge in a short film. This is a small, paid freelance project rather than a full-film edit. We are looking for someone to review our existing After Effects project and either fix the shot or provide the cleanest workflow to complete it.
The Challenge
In the shot, there are two actors: one is partially transparent and the other is solid. When they join hands, the solid actor needs to gradually become transparent. We have the effect mostly built, but the moment of physical contact is creating issues, particularly around the hands and areas of overlap.
Requirements
We are looking for someone comfortable with the following:
- Rotoscoping
- Masking
- Compositing
- Opacity transitions
- Handling tricky interactions between two moving subjects
Compensation
- Budget: $25/hour
