A Day in the Life: We are seeking a committed professional to join our team. While this is a remote position not located at a physical Medtronic site, the candidate hired will be required to reside within the territory and drive to multiple accounts throughout the region. A valid driver's license is essential for this role.
Position Description
Provide technical, educational, operational, and sales support to assist the district in meeting Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) sales and customer service objectives. Clinical Specialists are required to be within their assigned territory each day to be available as unscheduled needs arise.
- Schedule: Required to work a number of weekends and holidays during the quarter, as determined by local management. Weeknight call coverage is the primary responsibility of the Sales Rep, however, at times, business and/or geographical needs require a CS to be scheduled for weeknight coverage as approved by regional management.
Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Successfully completes CRM Field Technical Training (online and field-based).
- Performs checks/interrogations of all CRM medical device systems post sign-off.
- Supports implants of all CRM products post sign-off.
- Provides on-call support as needed on evenings and weekends post sign-off.
- Provides troubleshooting support as requested.
Operational Support
- Assures completion of patient registration and required hospital documentation.
- Helps manage consignment and trunk inventory.
- Provides additional inventory support to meet customer needs.
- Maintains software on programmers throughout the district.
- Assists with managing daily coverage logistics.
Educational Support
- Educates and trains physicians, hospital personnel, and office staff on products or solutions.
- Assists with educating and training new Clinical Specialists and Sales Representatives.
Sales Support
- Partners with DSM, Sales Reps, and DM to learn market dynamics and customer needs.
- Assists with obtaining customer POs.
- Maintains a basic understanding of the competitive landscape.
- Identifies customer needs and opportunities to support sales objectives.
Ongoing Technical Development
- Stays up to date on new products, solutions, and patient management offerings.
- Completes all assigned training in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma + minimum 6 years of work experience in healthcare, field sales, or work utilizing complex mathematics, mechanical concepts, science, or computing.
- OR Associate’s Degree + minimum 4 years of work experience in healthcare, field sales, or work utilizing complex mathematics, mechanical concepts, science, or computing.
- OR Bachelor’s Degree + minimum 2 years of work experience in healthcare, field sales, or work utilizing complex mathematics, mechanical concepts, science, or computing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough working knowledge of medical terminology and the medical device industry.
- Proven ability to build/maintain positive relationships across organization levels.
- Strong work ethic and excellent customer service skills.
- Expertise with Microsoft tools and applications (e.g., SalesForce.com).
- Ability to meet vendor credentialing requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Physical Job Requirements
- Frequent travel to customer clinics, hospitals, and offsite meetings (must be able to drive ~80% of the time).
- Frequent 2-handed lifting of up to 40 lbs.
- Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8+ hours per day.
- Ability to wear 7-9 lbs of lead for extended periods in the O.R.
- Environmental exposures include eye protection, infectious disease, and radiation.
- Minimum travel of 10%.
Benefits & Compensation
Salary Range: $72,000 – $90,000 USD (Excl. PR)
- Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP).
