Above and Beyond Talent is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer with 12+ years of experience in Infrastructure, Cloud, DevOps, or Platform Engineering, including enterprise DevOps platform design and technical leadership.
Key Skills
- Programmatically provision and manage AWS infrastructure using Auto Scaling Groups, Security Groups, Route 53, S3, and IAM.
- Utilize Git and implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to enable daily code delivery for data development teams.
- Build and maintain end-to-end data factory infrastructure using Terraform and related technologies.
Experience Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in Infrastructure, Cloud, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.
- 7+ years designing and implementing enterprise DevOps platforms.
- 5+ years leading enterprise-wide DevOps or Platform Engineering initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
- Experience designing and implementing Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms.
- Proven experience implementing enterprise CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps practices.
- Strong background in automation, cloud architecture, and platform modernization.
- Experience mentoring engineering teams and influencing technical direction across multiple organizations.
Performance Objectives / What You'll Be Doing
- Define enterprise DevOps and Platform Engineering strategies, standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps across multiple business units.
- Design and implement scalable, self-service DevOps platforms, standardized CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Architect cloud-native solutions across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments, including Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms and cloud governance.
- Integrate DevSecOps practices, security automation, compliance controls, and secrets management into CI/CD pipelines.
- Drive reliability and operational excellence through observability, SRE principles, platform SLAs/SLOs, technical governance, and engineering mentorship.
Job Details
- Location: Remote (Candidates who can eventually work hybrid in Baltimore MD, Evansville IN, Charlotte NC, Wilmington DE, or Irving TX are preferred).
- Duration: 6 months with possible conversion to FTE.
- Employment Type: Contract role on W-2 through Above and Beyond Talent Acquisition, Inc. (A&B Talent).
- Pay Rate: $110.00 to $115.00 per hour.
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the US.
