About the Role
I’m launching a new long-form YouTube documentary channel and I’m looking for an experienced documentary editor who also enjoys teaching.
While I plan to edit my own videos long-term, I’m a complete beginner in Premiere Pro. I am looking for someone who can mentor me through my first few documentaries to help shorten my learning curve, rather than simply editing the videos for me. My goal is to develop the skills and confidence to edit independently while receiving guidance during these initial projects.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Experience editing long-form YouTube documentaries.
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Experience with Adobe After Effects is a plus, but not required.
Mentorship
- Ability to explain editing decisions, pacing, and visual storytelling.
- Comfortable reviewing my edits and providing constructive feedback.
- Willing to answer questions as I continue developing my editing skills.
- Enjoys teaching and helping others grow.
Personality
- Patient.
- Friendly, encouraging, and easy to communicate with.
- Honest with feedback while remaining encouraging.
- Interested in building a collaborative, professional working relationship.
