[HIRING] Trading Card Frame Designer

About the Role

We are looking for a designer to create original trading card frame templates (border and layout only, no character art) for our app. Users will drop in their own photos and text to create custom cards for themselves and friends.

We are looking for a polish level comparable to Pokémon, MTG, or Lorcana, but the designs must be fully original (no copied logos, symbols, or close lookalikes).

Print Specifications (Poker Size)

Cut size: 2.48" x 3.46" (744x1038 px at 300 DPI)
Full bleed: 2.72" x 3.7" (816x1110 px); extend the design fully through the bleed.
Safe area: 2.28" x 3.27" (684x981 px); keep text, logos, and key elements inside this area.

Deliverables

Layered PSD, AI, or Figma files.
Transparent PNG at 300 DPI (with guide lines hidden).
Marked zones for:
- Art window
- Title bar
- Type line
- Body text box
- Optional stat badges
Text areas must be designed to handle both short and long text.
Fonts must be free or commercially licensed.
Full commercial rights must be transferred in writing.

Design Themes

We are building toward the following themes:

Classic fantasy: Ornate gold borders, parchment, heraldic details
Mythic creature: Claws, scales, vines, earthy tones
Arcane spell: Glowing runes, cosmic purples and blues
Sci-fi tech: Neon lines, holographic, futuristic
Retro arcade: Pixel details, bright colors
Sports legend: Bold, dynamic, stadium energy
Cute and playful: Soft colors, rounded shapes
Bold minimal: Clean, modern, graphic

Compensation & Process

Paid Test: Create ONE frame in any theme of your choice for a $50 fee.
Follow-up: If we are happy with the test, we will order a set of 3–5 additional frames.
Long-term: We are looking to build a long-term partnership with continued work.
