CTO Position

About the Role

As CTO, you will be responsible for the development of all products within YRW Technologies. This includes a variety of mobile apps, web apps, and desktop apps. The role is complex and may involve the development of file formats, custom databases, and other specialized software.

Due to the variety of software planned, project management skills are more necessary than technical skills, though technical skills are still important.

You must be:

  • Open to learning new technologies quickly
  • Able to hire, manage a team, and oversee software production

Responsibilities

  • You will be provided with product overviews, feature requirements, pre-made designs, core functionality, tech stack suggestions, and sometimes even the initial state of a REACT project.
  • You will complete the project and all future features.

Required Skills

  • UI/UX and Design: Possess common sense for UI/UX and have an eye for design.
  • Team Management: Know how to headhunt, recruit, shortlist, test, train, assign, manage, and track staff performance.
  • Process Development: Come up with a highly scalable process for shipping new features from start to finish.
  • Organization: Keeping everything clean and organized is imperative.
  • Documentation: Write, maintain, and update SOPs to maximize efficiency.
  • Leadership & Strategy: Ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability across all products.

  • Has overseen the build of complex systems such as real-time apps, API-heavy platforms, file storage or streaming technologies, or custom data structures.
  • Familiar with global scaling challenges — handling uptime, performance, and security for international user bases.

  • Shipped multiple consumer-facing apps with millions of downloads, or B2B SaaS platforms with enterprise adoption.
  • Built teams from scratch: handled recruiting, onboarding, training, and setting performance benchmarks.
  • Set up development processes (agile/scrum, sprint planning, documentation workflows) that allowed teams to deliver reliably and at speed.
  • Designed or overseen architecture decisions that balanced fast delivery with long-term scalability.
  • Dealt with real-world crises (downtime, security vulnerabilities, failed launches) and knows how to keep a cool head and implement preventative systems afterwards.
