BREAKFAST Studio | Senior Technical Program Manager
- Location: Brooklyn, NYC (ONSITE)
- Type: Full-time
- Compensation: $180k–$210k base + bonus

About the Role
We're BREAKFAST Studio, a kinetic-art studio at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. We build one-of-a-kind electro-mechanical sculptures—pieces with thousands of individually controlled moving parts—for museums, exhibitions, and collectors. We built The Pearl, the largest computer-controlled kinetic sculpture on the planet.
Every piece is a custom machine involving custom PCBs, stepper motion-control, molded parts, firmware, software, and overseas manufacturing, all converging into something that must run flawlessly for a decade.
We are hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to own delivery across all these disciplines. You must be fluent enough in mechanical, electrical, firmware, and industrial design to hold your own with every engineer, and skilled enough to keep a complex build from slipping between disciplines. You will own each piece from prototype through tooling, production, test, and install—including deciding what "properly tested" means for a machine no one has built before.
Requirements
- Experience: 8–12 years shipping complex hardware (motors, electronics, firmware, overseas manufacturing).
- Expertise: Real factory/vendor experience.
- Soft Skills: Calm under install deadlines and an eye for aesthetics—the tech serves the art.
- Availability: On-site daily in Brooklyn.
- Travel: ~15% travel required.
Benefits
- Health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Open vacation policy.
- Summer Fridays.
