About the Role
We are building a new contractor referral and services marketplace—similar to Thumbtack or Angi—where clients can easily find and connect with contractors and service providers. The vision includes an interactive web platform and a mobile app, encompassing user accounts, referrals, job tracking, payments, advertising, and more.
We are looking for a top-notch Senior Full-Stack Developer who has built similar platforms before and is excited about taking a product from an idea to a working, scalable reality. This is not a short-term project; we are looking for someone to grow with the platform long-term.
What You’ll Help Us Build
The platform will serve two main audiences: clients looking for services and contractors/vendors looking for business. Planned functionality includes:
- Client and contractor/vendor accounts and profiles
- Contractor listings, categories, search, and filtering
- Service requests, inquiries, referrals, and lead management
- Job and project tracking
- Client and vendor dashboards
- Online payments and transaction tracking
- Reviews and ratings
- Notifications and communications
- Banner advertising and paid promotional opportunities
- Admin tools for managing the platform
- Reporting and analytics
- Secure management of user, job, and transaction data
Who We’re Looking For
We need someone with strong experience in full-stack web and mobile development, particularly with marketplaces, booking platforms, or service-provider networks. You should be comfortable with:
- Full-stack web and mobile/cross-platform app development
- Strong front-end and back-end architecture
- User authentication and account management
- Payment gateway integrations
- Databases and APIs
- Third-party integrations
- Dashboards and reporting
- Secure, scalable application architecture
- Cloud hosting and deployment
- Testing, maintenance, and optimization
- Using modern AI-powered development tools and integrating AI capabilities into applications
More Than Just Coding
We are looking for a partner, not just a coder. You will be expected to:
- Look at the big picture, ask the right questions, and recommend the best technical approach.
- Study established platforms (like Thumbtack or Angi) to understand user journeys and marketplace functionality.
- Take the project through planning, architecture, development, testing, launch, and beyond.
- Communicate clearly with a non-technical team. Strong spoken and written English is required.
