The Role

As a Senior Director, Pharmacovigilance at ICON, you will be responsible for supporting strategy and growth within ICON's post-marketing team while providing key operational leadership. You will direct pharmacovigilance and drug safety activities, ensuring quality, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expand and enhance current services with a focus on innovation and introducing fresh perspectives.
  • Build strong client relationships to drive customer satisfaction, while maintaining high quality standards across all departmental activities through effective training, oversight, and resolution of quality issues.
  • Drive efficiency and productivity to maximize revenue and optimize costs, while supporting new business development and ensuring the profitability of ongoing work through effective management of change orders.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive pharmacovigilance strategies that align with ICON Plc's goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and manage pharmacovigilance teams to ensure effective safety monitoring, reporting, and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in pharmacovigilance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support safety assessments and risk management activities.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging practices to continually improve pharmacovigilance processes and strategies.
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to enhance the overall safety profile of our products and support business objectives.
  • Partner with Business Development and the rest of the ICON organization to ensure continued growth of the service area.
  • Partner with clients to understand their needs and devise/implement solutions, anticipating needs where possible.
  • Serve as project director for assigned projects and programs.
  • Lead and present at meetings and conferences as required.
  • Plan and manage resources proactively in alignment with internal guidelines and contractual obligations to maximize client satisfaction within the project budget.

Your Profile

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline or healthcare-related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in pharmacovigilance, with a proven track record of managing safety operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including experience in managing teams and influencing cross-functional initiatives.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of post-marketing pharmacovigilance regulations, safety reporting requirements, and risk management practices.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong grasp of financial drivers (profitability, cost control, margins) and proven ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver projects aligned with sound financial and operational practices.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as required (approximately 15%).
  • Residency: Must be based in the Western United States.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $178,008.00 – $222,510.00
