About the Role

Common Prefix is a science-first blockchain consulting company. Their vision is to make blockchains usable for mainstream users and everyday people. They are working to solve the real problems of usability, scalability, and interoperability.

They are a 30-person team, comprised of scientists (cryptographer PhDs, post-docs, and professors) and engineers with web2 experience. They are working to introduce provable security and proper engineering practices.

What We're Looking For

  • Software Engineers: Solve problems, are smart, get things done, and enjoy working on the bleeding edge, learning about cryptography, and working from first-principles.
  • Auditors: Write and read code, especially low-level cryptographic implementation code (zero knowledge verifiers, signature schemes, etc), consensus (PoW, PoS), or smart contracts (everything DeFi).
  • Support Engineers: (junior to early-mid) Enjoy being on the front line of production support (monitor live systems, respond to partner/user issues, triage/debug, and escalate).
  • Formal Verification Engineers: Hands-on experience in formal methods to work on machine-checked proofs of blockchain protocols and smart contracts.

Tech Stack

  • Doesn't matter, they will teach you.
  • They work mostly with Rust.

  • Salary: $80,000–$171,000 / year cash
  • Local from Athens, Greece, or remote
