Ehvert Mission Critical, a business unit within Salas O’Brien, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a long-term independent contractor basis. This is an ongoing contractual engagement with a US-based company and is not limited to a single project. You will provide services as an independent, self-employed professional.
Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support the design and coordination of cutting-edge data center projects across the U.S. You will be responsible for modeling, designing power distribution, security and life systems, standby generators, and UPS systems. You will perform calculations, prepare technical documentation, and ensure design accuracy using advanced BIM and electrical engineering tools. You will collaborate closely with other disciplines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, contributing to the full project lifecycle from schematic design through execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Using BIM tools to virtually construct electrical systems and coordinate with other disciplines (using Autodesk Revit – is a must).
- Developing a thorough understanding and delivery of project requirements regarding scope, cost, and schedule.
- Determining and expediting engineering deliverables for projects.
- Developing and maintaining project scope of work documentation and revisions as required during design evolution.
- Designing electrical systems, including power distribution, UPS, standby generator, security, and life systems.
- Preparing engineering calculations, schematic designs, and detailed designs.
- Preparing technical documentation for project execution, including design criteria, calculations, process flow sheets, and specifications/data sheets for electrical equipment.
- Reviewing shop drawings.
- Producing models and drawings in various BIM and CAD modeling tools.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
- Proven expertise as an electrical engineer.
- Written and spoken English (B1 level or higher).
- Experience in electrical design for industrial, residential, and commercial sectors, including medium/low voltage distribution, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection.
- Experience in various electrical modeling software.
- Hands-on experience using Autodesk Revit (is a must).
- Experience working on projects in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Deep knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards.
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet project deadlines.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical knowledge clearly.
