About the Role

BOSS-IQ is an AI strategic-planning product for owner-operators of small and medium businesses. The platform allows a user to describe an idea that has been stuck for years, and through a research-and-question session, it returns an implementation-ready plan. The product has been in production since June, with invitation-only onboarding for paying customers since August.

The founder is seeking a partner rather than a first hire. This role requires a unique blend of high-level engineering experience and advanced prompt engineering expertise.

The Ideal Candidate

The founder is looking for one person who possesses two distinct, high-level skill sets:

  • Experienced Developer: You have genuinely run software in production, including managing deployments, handling incidents, and participating in on-call rotations.
  • Black-Belt Prompter: You possess a high level of prompt engineering discipline. You have built your own standing rule files, context discipline, and reusable prompt libraries. You are frustrated by poor prompting practices and have developed a sophisticated, systematic approach to AI interaction.

Technical Stack

  • Languages/Frameworks: TypeScript throughout, NestJS (API and worker), Next.js 16 / React 19.
  • Infrastructure: Railway, Vercel, Postgres with Prisma, Redis, BullMQ, S3-compatible storage.
  • AI/ML: Pinecone, LangChain.js / LangGraph ReAct agents, Anthropic Claude (three model tiers), OpenAI embeddings.
  • Tooling: LangSmith for versioned prompt bodies and model configurations (no hardcoded prompts in TypeScript).

Product Architecture

The system utilizes 60+ specialist agents that perform continuous extraction over customer documents and sessions into a persistent, per-company memory. This "Total Capture" discipline ensures every fact is dated and traced to its source, preserving contradictions rather than overwriting them. The system is orchestrated by an always-on kernel that classifies sessions, attaches relevant rules, and generates sub-agentic plans.
